Alison Lock will read from her new book and discuss the writing and development of ‘world-building’ in Maysun and the Wingfish and her publisher, Dr Teika Bellamy of MothersMilkBooks will talk about press and publishing opportunities.
Her poetry and short stories have appeared in anthologies and journals in the UK and internationally. She has previously published a short story collection and two poetry collections. She has an MA in Literature Studies and is currently working towards a PhD in Creative Writing. She is a tutor for Transformative Life Writing courses.
Maysun and the Wingfish is a story of the fantastical where an orbiting moon is chased by a rogue planet causing a catastrophic event. Following the destruction of her beloved valley, Maysun is guided by the spirit of the GrandOmma to face the dangers of the forest of Ruba to bring the Wingfish back to their homeland; she will meet Barco – but is he friend or foe?
